Every year we have special collections to support those in mission in the UK and overseas. The following are the main missions we support. <\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Andover Food Bank<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Helping Local People in Crisis. They say \u2018We don\u2019t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That\u2019s why we provide three days\u2019 nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We support the Andover Food Bank through a special Harvest festival collection. Donations are collected in the community, and at St Mary’s Overton and at the Overton Co-op. Items that are urgently needed by the Foodbank are listed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mityana Projects<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Whitchurch Deanery has had a partnership with Mityana Diocese in Uganda since the 1980\u2019s and supports a variety of projects.\u00a0Rev\u2019d Dodie Marsden comments \u2018When we go to Mityana and give them something \u2013 a water tank, a classroom, new desks, doors, windows, equipment, gifts; whatever it is large or small, they always say \u2018thank you for loving us \u2026 how can we pray for you?\u2019
From time to time members of the congregation go Uganda to strengthen our links and support projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
