Services are normally held at 11 am on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, but there is no 4th Sunday service in the summer months (June, July & August). We are very fortunate in having a regular organist.
The 2nd Sunday service is a celebration of Holy Communion which is based on Common Worship Order 1. The PCC decided a few years ago that they would exchange the Peace at the start of the service.
The service on the 4th Sunday is normally Matins from the Book of Common Prayer (1662) and is lay-led.
A service of thanksgiving for pets and other animals is held in September. This has been well-supported by members of the Benefice, as well as by members of the community.
A Harvest Festival service is held in the autumn, usually on the third Sunday in October. In recent years, tinned and packaged food collected at this service has been given to the Andover or Basingstoke Food Bank.
The parish holds an annual service of Remembrance each November. This service is very well-attended; many attend who do not do so on a regular basis.
There is normally a Carol Service on a Sunday afternoon a week or so before Christmas. A special effort is made to make the church look festive and welcoming in the season of Christmas.
On Christmas Day a more informal style of worship is used for the first part of the service before continuing with a shortened form of Order 1 Holy Communion. The Christmas Day service generally fills the church and includes many children and young adults.
We like to recognise the attendance of children and young people at Easter and Christmas by offering parting gifts of tiny Easter eggs and chocolate coins. (There are usually plenty left for the “grown-ups!).
